Why Go Veggie?
Ethical issues is usually the reason people are veggie, often deciding it is wrong to eat an animal. Other ethical reasons such as the way the animals are housed and slaughtered are also good reasons to go veggie.
Factory farming is getting worse. Despite legislation chickens are still packed into tiny cages where they attack each other through boredom and frustration.
Veal is calf's that are brought up in total darkness and fed nothing but milk their whole lives.
Pigs are often packed ten at a time in small cages with very little to do. They are highly intelligent creatures and most end up mad: bar chewing, pacing and fighting with each other.
If you want to find out more about these issues then there are plenty of sites such as peta.org, who fight for these animals. The other bonus of the vegetarian diet is that, when not eating saturated fats, it can help you to loose weight and prevent heart disease.
For whatever reason you decide to go veggie, don't worry, its not as hard as it seams. If you are certain about doing it then go ahead and do it.
How to get around the forum, rules and chat
You can read any board you like, get recipes, read other peoples views and get info, but you wont be able to post anything without first registering and logging in. Its simple, quick and easy. All you need to do is click register at the top of the forums page, or in the links to the left of this page and fill out the form.
Posting a recipe
If you have a recipe you want to share, please include a list of ingredients at the beginning of the post then directions on how to make it. Like you would find in a recipe book. If you know its definatly vegan you can also include this in the title of the post.
Rules
No swearing, this site is for everyone, swearing will be dealt with and there is a swear filter, so don't find ways of by passing it.
NO bullying: it's not cleaver, its not cool and its not nice, action will be taken against any bullying allegations. If you are being bullied then PM the admin and state yours and their username, action will then be taken.
Please don't copy the recipes and post them elsewhere, unless the poster says its ok. All recipes are copyright to the poster.
